Description

Hope by George Watts | Antique Framed PrintHope by George Watts is one of the best known and loved Symbolist images of the late 19th century, completed in 2 versions in 1886. Its unusual in that it employs no imagery traditionally associated with hope: It depicts a blindfolded woman sitting on a globe playing a harp with only one string left intact. She is clinging onto that last string of hope with all her might. This antique print dates to around 1900 and is presented in its original frame.
