“Vassar Girl” in Fencing Costume Cabinet Card PhotoWhile Vassar College did and does have a fairly renowned fencing program for girls, I am guessing the Vassar Girls inscription on the back of this photo means some kind of theatrical revue: This military inspired look is clearly a costume and that is a decorative sword and not a fencing foil!
