Philodendron nangaritense
Description
Philodendron nangaritensePhilodendron nangaritense is one of our favorite Philodendron species. Its foliage opens up a bronzish pink which darkens to green as it matures. Its red petioles have a bumpy texture unique amongst Philodendrons. This species exhibits more of a scrambling growth habit like gloriosum as opposed to vining like verrucosum. This product is considered an Intermediate Tropical plant. Please see our Aroid Shipping guidelines and Shipping and Guarantees
The famous corpse flower is renown for having the largest inflorescence in the world
9" (1140 x 129 x 200mm)
We've noticed offspring from this plant to exhibit the same characteristic so there's a lot to look forward to
intermediate and highland conditions for us
A new cross out of Borneo Exotics with gorgeous color
They tend to produce plum coloration as they open and then fade to purple/black as they age
we do know that they have the perfect shape to be used as toilets to catch the excrement of summit rats which feed from the sugary exudate on the large
This will be a winner for sure
So far seedlings have grown well under a wide range of conditions and we expect all the seedlings to be very colorful with a wide peristome and squat shape
Please leave us a comment at purchase and we will do our best to fulfill your request for a specific color
It does produce larger more colorful pitchers when kept on the cool side
It is found at 1200 meters elevation so it would be best grown as an intermediate but should also grow well in highland conditions and likely as a lowlander as well
