Adelphi Distillery Glenrothes 1991 57.70% 70clArdnamurchan is one of a collection of five West Highland peninsulas. It is home to Adelphi Distillery, one of the most prestigious and environmentally sustainable distilleries in Scotland. Adelphi produces both peated and unpeated whisky, made with barley grown on the estate of one of the distillery owners. The Adelphi range is about bottling rare casks and Glenrothes 1991 57. 70% is one of few that we managed to get our hands on!

This range of wild-ferment wines captures the Cape’s classic varietals with a vibrant

velvety and soft on the palate

a wooden basket press is employed for pressing

This Orgo red wine is made from 80 year old Saperavi vines and is fermented and aged in the traditional Qvevri (Large clay jars)

russet apple and green fig fruit and a superbly long finish

brought about by the Atlantic influence

embraced biodynamic farming

bursting with ripe stone fruit

undergoing further maturation in the bottle before release

laurel and cedar notes building into a long saline mineral finish

which are all harvested and vinified together in the traditional way
