Gliere, R. - Duos 1 - 6, Op. 49, Arranged for Violin and ViolaRienhold Gliere was born in the mid 1800's in Kiev in what is now Ukraine and died in the mid 1900's in Moskow. He taught at the Moscow Conservatory for many years. His compositions were numerous ballets, symphonies, concertos, chamber works, film scores and operas. This group of 6 was originally written for two violins and works very well for violin and viola. Purchase includes the first 6 movements, from a total of the twelve duos in Op. 49.
