Distinguished Conduct Medal GVIAround 1900 awards of the DCM were made during World War Two with nine recipeints receiving a bar. As with the First World War, awards were made to foreign nationals and in the main these were issued un named, all awards to UK troops were awarded with impressed naming although some awards made for the Far East were engraved locally.
The Arctic Star was instituted to recognise the service of British and Commonwealth personnel who participated in the Arctic Convoys between 3 September 1939 and 8 May 1945
The Qualifying period for this clasp is a minimum of 30 days' service between 14 August 1969 and 31 July 2007
