The milky white body is complemented by a strip of criss crossing lines known as the reticello technique. Provenance: This sconce adorned the historic Grand Hotel Des Bains in Venezia, which was built in 1900 for wealthy travellers and inspired the novella Death in Venice by Thomas Mann.
