Quartz (GEM doubly terminated “floater”)
Description
Quartz (GEM doubly terminated “floater”)This piece was collected by Patrick and Carl Auclair in the 1990s. It is a superb quality, razor sharp, rather lustrous, doubly terminated, GEM quality WATER CLEAR floater crystal of colorless Quartz from an area that RARELY produces Quartz of this quality. Quartz of this quality is not usually seen from any locality in Colorado. Its much more reminiscent of Alpine Quartz from the standpoint of luster and gemminess. For reference, the piece simply

There's even an interesting orange zoned fluorescence under SW UV light

A classic association specimen from one of the most well-known mines in Bolivia
