The plant is generally a strong green colour but lightens to a more golden colour at the top with hints of cuprea tones

and a well-defined throat patch

From the 1990's came a beautiful Sarracenia leucophylla hybrid (Sarracenia leucophylla x Sarracenia x willisii) created by Mark Edwards of New Zealand

a trait likely inherited from Sarracenia oreophila

creating a bold visual appeal

typically red to maroon in colour

it's one of the first to spring into life each year letting us know the season has started

The flowers are a dark red
