Makenge Basket 01Makenge baskets are hand woven in Zambia from boiled roots of the Makenge bush and naturally coloured with plant dyes. Traditionally, these baskets are given as wedding presents to new brides, to use in outdoor kitchens. They are extremely hard wearing as the roots from the Makenge bush allow for higher coils to be woven.
